Another way to access Facebook at school is to use UltraSurf. This free tool was originally developed for people in Mainland China, whose Internet access is very restricted, regulated and monitored. If UltraSurf can reach around the Chinese government, chances are it can help you access Facebook from school as well.
Go to the UltraSurf website and download the latest version. Right-click on the downloaded ZIP file and extract it to a folder on your desktop or somewhere else where you will be able to easily find it. Then open the folder where you extracted the UltraSurf program and double-click on the UltraSurf icon to launch the program.
If your school uses the Firefox browser, you will also have to download the UltraSurf Firefox add-on in addition to downloading the UltraSurf ZIP file.
Say what now?
If you need help, just click the “Need help? Click Here” link in the upper right-hand corner of the UltraSurf webpage for more detailed instructions.
In addition to unblocking Facebook, UltraSurf also allows you to browse the Internet with a high level of encryption for safer browsing. It also hides your IP address! Just another bonus to the free UltraSurf program.
Try it out, especially if you’re having trouble using Facebook at school with one of the free proxy servers.

Try using “https://www.facebook.com” instead of “http://www.facebook.com” to access Facebook from school. This accesses an encrypted version of Facebook that is usually not blocked by school computers.
Also try installing the HTTPS Everywhere add-on for Firefox browsers, or the Facebook Secure Connection if you’re using Google Chrome.
Restart your browser and then visit “https://www.facebook.com” to access Facebook from school.
If that doesn’t work, here’s something else you can try. Go to the Opera Mini Simulator website and use the phone demo screen to access Facebook from school.
This is a great thing to try if you have already tried using common proxy servers and haven’t been able to use Facebook at school through the proxy servers or other common techniques. If this doesn’t work, try one of our other methods of using Facebook from school located in another blog post on this site.

If you have trouble using proxy servers to access Facebook from school, another trick you can use is to translate Facebook into another language using Google Translate.
Go to the Google Translate website and type “facebook.com” into the empty text field. Then choose a language other than “English” from the drop-down menu box. Click the “Translate” button to begin translating Facebook into another language.
Click the “Go to Facebook.com” link to access the translated version of the Facebook login page. You can hover your mouse over an area of the translated Facebook pages to see what it looks like in English.
This method may actually work better and faster than some web proxies, and it is unlikely that your school has blocked the Google Translate website. Let me know how this method works for you?

You can access Facebook from school using a free web proxy. A web proxy acts as a middleman between you and Facebook. This allows you to visit Facebook without your school knowing about it. Here is a list of free web proxy sites. Click on one of the links below to visit a free web proxy site. Then type “Facebook.com” into the web proxy’s address bar to access Facebook. Some proxy sites might also be blocked by your school, so if the first one doesn’t work, keep trying different web proxy sites until you find one that works.
